Way to represent. Native son here in Washington. His bronze statue down on his knees shredding a guitar is on Capital Hill in Seattle. Love how the stamp captures the psychedelic art work of the era.

Cool, I was young (under 10) when he died but I remember seeing something about it and thinking that he was hot (or whatever the equivalent for a kid's word for "hot" was) and my mom told me he was dead so don't do drugs. Andre 3000 looks great in the biopic -- check him out. I'll be buying some stamps!

Pretty cool but I love the muscle car stamps I purchased from the P.O.

Way cool! My son has a love affair with muscle cars. Had a Chevy and now owns the Ford Shelby. I just ordered him some of the muscle car stamps. Thanks for the info. When they make Janis Joplin stamps...I will buy me a bunch of them.

Oooo, I've got to have some! I saw Jimi in 1968 at SMU's Moody Auditorium. He ran a little late (no surprise), but gave us our money's worth and then some! Magical evening I'll never forget.

He was around in the 60s, perhaps you weren't into rock at the time.
