@Annabellethecat66: I HEAR YOU !!!  And, I FEEL YOU !!!

its horrible and I hate it so much. I wonder like you, does anyone buy from them I hope not.  I have been told they are generated from around the world and the purpose is to gain information.

Good luck, girl.

[ Edited ]

Yes,it happens to me a lot. I have call filter on my phone but it just lets me know its a spam call. Here lately, I have been getting calls from Romania (seriously) and Bulgaria...what the.  Its just nuts!!

This happens on my iphone. We cut the cord on the landline.

They're called "robocalls" because they're machine gnerated; they just keep going.  Take heart.  Apparently there's a new attempt to stop robocalls.  This one will definitely solve the problem.  Before you stand up and cheer, remember the "Do Not Call List".

Block the calls.  I have been doing that for a while and the number of calls have decreased.

I have been getting many calls starting about 8 AM and going on until 9 PM every day. I have started writting my Senator monthly. The last time I told him that if he doesn't get his pals in the Senate doing something I would write him once a month.

Good old seantor writes back and tells me about the way they stopped the annoying calls years ago with the Do Not Call list. I keep telling him that list doesn't stop the calls, it tells the callers which numbers are legit so they don't waste their time and money calling numbers that aren't in use.

Finally the last time I wrote I told him to look up the definition of criminal, and he would know that they aren't following the rules of that list.

They need to make the app illegal to have and use that allows them to put in a different name and number instead of the number they are calling from. There is no legal reason I should be able to put in someone else's name and number and pretend I am calling from that number. Spoofing another number and name should not be legal! I answered a call because the Caller ID showed it was the hospital. But, it was Kristen wanting to lower my credit card interest rate to 0%, not anyone even near the hospital. You can't block the hospital. If you do, then what if it's someone that needs help, or it's really the hospital wanting to set up an appointment?

Spoofing a number should get you fined.

I know it isn't my letters, but the last answer I got back from my Senator he said they are working on 2 different bills to try to stop robocalls. At least they are beginning to listen. Maybe if we all look up our representatives online and fill out their forms they will start to hear us. Of course, it's some low paid helper that reads the letter, but if that person reads enough of them they may poke the Senator/Congressman and say "Hey, people are complaining about...". It's worth a try.

The funny thing is the very first robocall I ever got was from a Former First Lady wanting me to vote for her son that was running for President. That was a while back. Now, it's many every day wanting to rob me of what little money I have.

Cut the cord and get smartphones.

@lovesrecess I get spam calls several times a day, most days, on my smartphone. No, I don't answer them...anyone I want to speak to is in my contacts list. And if the call is actually important, I figure they'll leave a message.

I actually have call blocker AND NoMoRobo both.

I go through my call log every day to see if I missed someone. That’s when I find the 15 calls from the same numbers. Ugh. I wish the spammers would leave me alone!

Its called "spoofing" the scammers show a different number than the one they are actually calling from....they can even use your own number, a hospital or other legit local number too.....Supposedy there is something in the works to stop "spoofing".....
