I do think clothing should still have no deduction for returns. You really do have to be able to try on clothing to know if it fits and looks OK.
Lots of places won't take a beauty product return at all if it's unsealed and/or you've used it. Q lets you try it and still return it, so the small return deduction isn't that bad, IMO.

For example....the $3 fee is called "Best Standard Delvery"
Then you can alternatively pick "UPS" for $6.22 or "USPS" for $6.22 (and other choices too that are even more $$)
they are such cheap skates....
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...Just when I thought they might be listening.
Oh, they were listening, but found a way around what we were asking for.

The return policy is basically the same as Amazon. Amazon deducts $$ from a return unless it's defective or the Amazon description wasn't accurate.
For those who like Amazon, Q's new policy shouldn't make a difference since it's the same.
I've had Amazon use Smartpost on quite a few orders, also. And, have noticed they're using USPS even more than UPS the last few weeks.
That is not my experience with Amazon. We just returned a car part my son ordered and got every penny back, and our reason was that it turned out we just did not need it.
I returned a cordless phone just 5 days ago and that's what the online return info was.
If I chose any reason for return other than defective or Amazon description error, they deducted a fee to return it. I reviewed it twice to make sure I was reading it correctly and I was.
Either they have different/inconsistent return policies, or they've changed their policy recently.

Don't know what to tell you about it Lion, except that I just did the car part return and got every penny back- with the reason of changed mind (or the like).
I just double checked on my account to make sure.

Sounds like they have inconsistent return policies. That's not good.

Do you have Prime, Lion?

Yes, I've had it for quite a few years now.
I do a lot of shopping with Amazon, but very few returns and almost all have been damaged items that they told me not to bother returning.

You know I never really checked their return policy....maybe because I have never had to return anything yet from Amazon. I just noted that if I had returned a pair of shoes I just ordered, there would have been a re-stocking fee.
In addition if they paid anything to ship them to me, I would be responsible for it.
I guess all companies are making the customer absorb more of the shipping fees.

I do too, so your being charged is a mystery to me. Unless it was the type of item or if being fulfilled by Amazon and the real seller has this provision, I don't get it.

Amazon has many different vendors so unless it's an Amazon direct shipment, their return policy can be different. However, whenever I've had a problem with a defective product Amazon always refunds original and return shipping even if the outside vendor refuses to do so.
