New recall on airbags in older cars

[ Edited ]

There’s a new recall on some cars for faulty airbags. These are also made by Takada.

Models in the recall are ‘95 or newer. https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/05/business/takata-airbag-recall-scli/index.html

@Mindy D :  This new update is meaningless, you didn't list the specific cars involved.  Not that this update matters (as it will be on several news feeds not to mention the evening news.

Re: New recall on airbags in older cars

Wow I heard about their recall back in 2013. Had to check my car which is ok. The Toyota Corolla has these airbags but not the Avalon.

People need to check their cars. There are alot involved. You airbags are suppose to be a safety feature not something that may kill you.

@Shawnie This is all the information that has been posted as of today. Sorry, but  NSTSA hasn’t put out all the necessary information yet. Owners can call 1(888) 327-4236. Or go to www.safercar.gov

Re: New recall on airbags in older cars

Well, isn't that just great. I have a 2003 car that I have been driving around in for 16 years and it may be a danger to me! Will owners of the vehicles affected be notified if their car is part of the recall?

This is all that has been released so far. @Jordan2 Please look at the page below. Which cars are affected is not determined yet. Keep the phone number and links written down.

This was the bottom link in @Mindy D 's post.  You enter your VIN # and can see if your car has one of the recalled airbags.
