@Mindy D Thank you for the warning!

Scam.
Whenever you get an email like this DO NOT USE THEIR LINK OR THEIR EMAIL TO RESPOND. GO TO THE ORIGINAL SITE YOURSELF.
I just had so much fun with scam from Pretend Comcast Xfinity. They told me my computer was compromised. I just about fell for it.
In any case never give anyone access to your computer online.

Check into what???? It's obviously a scam. A silly one at that, phishing for credit card numbers. They send out millions of those emails randomly, hoping to get few hits. We all get junk like that, more with the holidays coming. Delete and move on.

I've been receiving these for a while. I also get one that says my apple account has been blocked. I right click on them before opening to check on the sender and then block them. Who knows how they get my email but I keep blocking.

Well then, you must the receiver of my new $250 Amazon gift card which has (or not) alerted my credit card. To which they wish the password! Gheezzz

My favorite is from "Amazon". It starts out with "Beloved Customer"
Who addresses their customers like that? I laughed out loud when I read that one.
The scammer is, obviously, across the pond.

At least the latest PayPal scammer is using spelling and grammar checking! Kudos to them for that.
A shame these people can't find a better use for their talents.
(The "Dear Customer" instead of your name would be a big red flag.)

@Mindy D I have used that to report 3 of these scam e mails to date.
It scared me half to death the first time I got the email and I immediately went to PayPal to check my account to see if there had been any unauthorized charges. There had not.
I forwarded the email to the address you posted. I haven't gotten another one yet.

I know better now, but when it first happened last spring I didn't! I didn't click the link, but I called my bank. Whoever I talked to told me to change my passwords to the bank and PayPal immediately, but it was probably a scam. I did this. I then called PayPal. This was after we were in quarantine, but I needed to know for sure. The customer service representative I talked to was also very helpful. She told me to forward the email to their security department, AND to CHECK THE ADDRESS the email originated from. I hadn't checked that since I was on my iPad. Sure enough, it was a gmail address! Now I know!
