Re: New Year's Eve Plans Anyone? It's a Stay At Home for Me!

[ Edited ]

I haven't gone to a NYE event that required getting gussied up for as far back as I can remember.  I take that back.  NYE 2001 was the last time I wore a gown for a NYE event.  Now the only gown I wear for NYE is my nightgown and I'm quite content with that!  I can't even make it to midnight anyway, but living in HI, we get to ring in the New Year starting at 7:00 pm with the East Coast. I try to make it to the West Coast ringing in, but no...I'm too sleepy!

Staying home like always. I doubt I can stay awake to see the ball drop on TV.   Ran a few errands earlier and everything was crazy busy.

Tomorrow should be calm.  Will drive out to son's home to see DIL  and grandkids and dog. That's enough excitement for me.

Way back in the fancy days we went to the club, it cost a bunch for the evening not including the dress and drinks. . . Gave that up and started just staying home with a few folks. Enjoy that much better!!!!

A very dear friend husband passed a few months ago. So a group of us ( we were all in her wedding) got matching Jammie's and we are bringing snacks and champagne and we are having a "aunties" slumber party with breakfast at cracker barrel in the am! It should be fun! We just don't want her to be alone! She is super excited!

@SurferWife   I love that line about gown/nightgown.  LOL.   As for me, I will be working midnight shift, but it's all good.  Happy New Year all, hoping 2025 is a good one.Heart

We were invited to a casual-dress game night at a private civic-service club.  It's being catered by one of my favorite local restaurants, so we might stop by for dinner and a game of trivia or two.  Probably home and in bed before midnight though.

I have never been a party animal.  I am making a few simple appetizers for us, maybe watch a bit of tv, maybe play a few rounds of gin rummy and then go to bed, with the dog stretched out between us, before midnight. 🕛🙄

We had so many years of going out and having such great times. As I think back now I miss my friends.
We will be home watching TV and having some snacks.

'Happy New to all.
