Yes I'm well aware that some ppl don't make them or think they're stupid. For those who like to view a new year as a fresh start, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Mine are:

*work on not overthinking everything, lighten up

* keep sports in perspective, not easy as I am extremely invested emotionally in certain teams. I get overwhelmed at times.
* reduce my online shopping by reducing and/or eliminating the time I spend looking at certain  websites

I'm not much for resolutions but for 2023,  I do want to make more time to visit my son, Kevin and try to do more traveling.

Today during our Christmas lunch we started thinking of taking a trip for Christmas 2024

Does Kevin live far away?
Planning a trip to....? Where are you thinking?

my husband and I are shooting for a trip to Thailand Jan,2024 to visit my daughter. That's one reason for my desire to curb impulsive shopping. Save more money for the trip

Oh good one and got me thinking while I sit here in bed after a busy day with a glass of champers.  Mine are or should be.

Dont worry about things I can't control.

More walks

Do jigsaw puzzles. We did one over the last few days and it was so relaxing.

Find some new tv series.

Try to stop being over critical about myself.  I recently had eye surgery and can't wear eye makeup yet.  It's actually very liberating and I don't look that bad without it or maybe it's the champagne talking lol. Anyway ...

Happy New Year to all here.

I love your resolutions! Jigsaw puzzles, I've tried. I really have. So frustrating because other ppl enjoy them but I feel like I'm missing that part of my brain. Haha.
Lol on the champagne talking. Hey whatever helps. 🥰😂

I would like to learn at least one new skill each month during the new year, even if it's something small.  I keep putting off things I want to try.

I want to organize my clothes better in my dresser and redo my master bedroom closet.  Big decision is how much $ to spend on the transformation. Custom closets are high priced and I need to look at all options. Also probably need extra manpower to help me go through it all & help make decisions.

Fairydogmother, the champagne was left over from a celebration, my daughter got engaged today to her wonderful boyfriend.  As for the jigsaw, I live with high achievers so it felt great to find the odd piece during the day.  I may find a 100 piece one to do on my own to continue this journey of pats on the back instead of being too critical on myself.  Btw, the 1000 piece jigsaw was finished with one piece missing!  The high achievers were upset while I glided through the result unfeathered.  They are going to Walmart tomorrow to buy the same one to find the missing piece.

Just thought of another resolution ...laugh more.

Hi, @smoochy  and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My resolution for 2023 is Simplify-Simplify-Simplify:  get rid of "stuff" I no longer wear/use/even want to look at.  There is someone somewhere who will love/use it as much as I once did.  Good riddance for me and good fortune for whomever it lands with!

Well, I have been thinking about reducing unused items. So, I am going to get rid of DH's Mother's lovely old wedding dishes.

Cannot be used in microwave, must be washed by hand and carefully. They are so beautiful, but we rarely use them.

Recently, my DH's sister came to stay for  awhile, so I decided to use her Mother's dishes  and surprise her.

She saw them on the table and barely noticed them :-(

No one wants them, so......
