It's slightly annoying but many companies, like Amazon for example, now do returns this way. It's not a big deal, IMO.

It IS a big deal to me since I do not have a printer. It will make me think very long and hard before purchasing anything.

When I have used the existing online return process, a printer was not needed when I dropped the package off at UPS. Just close the package up and bring it to UPS where I show them a QR Code that they scan. Then, they print the label out, put it on the box & give me my receipt that I dropped it off.
My hope is that the new process is similar (if not the same). It's exceedingly easy.
All for cutting down on the wasteful return slips that often go unused -- especially since the online return process is so easy. Very much looking forward to not having to deal with cutting up or shredding those unused return slips. This is a very positive change!

It depends if there is a way to return multiple items at the same time. That is the only cost effective way to return. Cost to return is based on package weight not the number of items in the package. I very rarely ever return a single item. I usually always return multiple in the same package, especially at Christmas time.
I will definately be purchasing less. I will have to be 100% sure an item won't need to be returned. Lots of times with the Q you can ask for an exchange, the item can be available and they still process as a return and charge the S&H.
I will be better off ordering from Amazon if the price is similar, in case it needs a return or exchange.
This can't be compared to Amazon - you don't need a printer for that, just a phone for QR code to show at dropoff and it is usually free returns.

I have no problem whatsoever with it. Smart updated business decision eliminating a large volume of unnecessary, unused return labels.
No printer at home is needed.
The QR Code can be scanned at your point of departure and they print it.

I hate it. It's a pain, and Amazon is the worst as far as printing is concerned. I hate having to print the label, and Amazon is hard to print for some reason on my computer. Uses up expensive ink, then I have to tape it on. That takes tons of tape to secure it properly, that's if I can find a box or bag. Ususally I order a few things at once, comes in a bigger box. I don't return often, but I hate it. I can't ever remember Amazon enclosing labels. I can't drive right now. So I have to wait for grand kids as I hate to give it to Whiney husband. I really wish Nordstrom would go back to their adhesive return labels. But they have cheapened down like all other stores, and are having various vendors send items out. They don't keep much in warehouse anymore. That's why the huge selection last several years. They have hundreds of vendors selling their items on Nordie site. So item comes from vendor. No gift wrap, box to gift wrap. All the little touches are disappearing there as well

i am fine using a printer to print out a return label OR using the
QR code so that usps or ups prints out a return label for me.
i have to also say that i do not return a lot at all.

I'm not happy with it. I use the return label and bring to my local Parcel Place which is in my local shopping center. There is a sign on their front door that they don't do QR codes. I would have to go significantly further to find a place where I could drop off without a label.
I do have a printer though and we had unplugged it to be moved into another room. I will have to get my son to help set it up for me this weekend.

@millies daughter. My thought is you need to carefully read the instructions.
