I will preface this by saying this is my fault, and I know better. I hereby resolve to not comment on stupid things I read on Facebook. You just can't have a reasonable discussion, without being call something vile and disgusting. However I opened this nasty portal by responding, so my new resolution is to stay off Facebook unless it involves, book, recipes, or cats. I think I can keep this one.

I gave up Facebook,Twitter in 2017. It was too toxic.

I did the same thing! It was toxic for me. Not healthy in any way. I do ocassionally feel disconnected from society without any social media. But really I don't need it.

@QVCkitty1 I understand your concern. Even with the kind and positive posters there are certain topics discussed best on supportive boards/social media. Wishing you a Happy New Year!

I feel that this board is a reasonable place, where I won't be called a a word that means woman who sells her body, because I don't agree with them.

I only do Facebook to view pictures of family and a close friend and her family. Plus Anna Griffin for paper crafts. I never initiate a Facebook post but I do comment on family pics.

I closed my Facebook account a couple years ago and don’t miss it at all.

2020 is probably the best of all years to stay away from Facebook.

@QVCkitty1 I agree with you. I have found this board to be kind and supportive and I doubt you would have that experience here.

I use Facebook (and Twitter) and have never been called names or felt threatened. I've been involved in some spirited discussions, but that's as far as it's gone. Those who name call only show how unprepared they are to defend their point of view.
Quite frankly, even though it's subtle and couched so as to get around moderation, in my experience, I find this place to be far more toxic and full of nastiness than what I've encountered elsewhere.
