Likes: if you leave off from reading a thread and then go back to see 'new posts' you do not need to scroll to see the new threads, it takes you back to where you left off.
Ability to pretty much remain logged in most of the day on an I Pad but dislike the need to constantly sign in during the day if on a laptop
the notifications using the @ Symbol, but dislike the constant message telling me someone hearted or mentioned me in the lower right hand corner, until I X it out!
Ability to post pictures from your computer without too many problems -- some photos need resizing.
Likes: mods removing threads completely or to the proper forum if accidentally begun in another forum in error.
Dislikes: we still need an ignore button, the old forum had it and this one should too.
Likes: the ability to choose an avatar for your screen name.
Likes: ability to colorize your siggy line to distinguish it from your post.
Dislikes: the emojis because the previous emojis were much better because the facial expression was larger and easier to discern.

@nomless wrote:What I dislike about the new forum format: no way to see a list of the simgle most recent post only across all threads. Display by post shows all most recent posta, so sometimes the listing is for mostly one thread. When WEN is on for example or Sat AM style.
I don't understand this one @nomless, I
wonder if it might be your settings?
@newziesuzie, no, it's not my settings. In the old forum, you could get a listing of the most recent post from each thread. That was how I found the threads I was interested in reading. Now, the Display by Recent Posts option shows just that, all recent posts. If a thread is very active, it is listed multiple to!as, over and over, because there are so many recent posts to it. Display by Recent Topic doesn't do what I want because a topic may be near the top but I've read all the posts to the thread.
I talked to one of the mods about this extensively last year, and the conclusion was it's a difficult change to make and probably would never happen. And it hasn't.
I know that because of this, I miss out on threads I would be interested in or fail to see follow-up posts. Oh, well.
@nomless I only see each thread one time
in the list of threads on each sub forum and I have
it set to show threads w most recent posts.
Wish we could see a picture of what you see because
I think still that the settings need changing.
Wish I could help because it sounds like a mess to
look at.
☹️

So we've been here a while
what are the things you like and what
dont you like about the changes?
I can think of several but I'll start
with:
@Like: Giving hearts, using the @ sign
notifications, getting answers and help
directly from the moderators, all the variety
of text sizes and colors etc.
Don't like: Jumping screens, all the white space
on the pages, regular frequent technical problems
and when one problem gets fixed
another one pops up.
I like much more than I dislike really.
What are your thoughts?
😊
@I am still new and have no idea what you mean about the @ notifications, "jumping screens" (mine doesn't seem to jump around), or how to vary text sizes in the posts. I think I need a tutorial. It usn't easy to jump into this without knowing a thing about how to do it! Tx for listening.
@libbyannE There's a thread in Suggestion Box with all
kinds of tips for you.
@The @ sign notifications give you a notice in your
Notifications that somebody mentioned your name so you can find
the post and read it, do you know how to find that list?
The word
"Notifications" at the top of page.
Welcome!!!😊

At first I really disliked the whole thing! But I don't adpat to changes well when it has to do with computers and technology! I still probably don't know a lot of the features, etc., but I know enough now that I am fine with it and it doesn't bother me any more.
I enjoy the hearts and I also enjoy the @ feature, being able to notify someone in particular.
I also think it's nice and very important that the moderators really keep an eye on things here. It helps to keep things more congenial and friendly.
I imaginge that as soon we are all really used to the whole system, then they will change it again! LOL!

I like the heart and the @ sign. Those were good updates. I dislike that they are so restrictive on what we talk about.

Don't like how often I have to sign in. Hate weird thing that sometimes happens. Scrolling through posts and the bottom half of the page goes black then starts blinking black & white like a strobe light. Have to leave and come back.

How do I set it so that I do not have to see signatures? I went into my Preferences and there is a box to check to see signatures. I do NOT have that box checked, yet I see signatures from many people.
I really don't like them....same old, same old, every time somebody posts. How do I turn them off?
Thanks!
ETA: Never mind.....I figured it out.

You're very welcome, @spent2much. What a nice thing for you to say and for me to find in my notifications today.
