@Mz iMac  but that's for the car that she just transfered to her son a month ago. The insurance is still in her name because the agency refuses to put it in his name .  He's had insurance in his name for years. Someone even mentioned that at 36 years old he should have his own insurance which @drizzellla  said he always did.

Re: New Procedures for Car Insurance?

I have worked in insurance for many years.  They have been checking credit scores for years even at renewal.  It is one of the factors that that determines your premium.  If your score is low, they assume you will have more claims.  Is the car you gave your son registered & titled to him?

My husband is in the industry...not an agent and we have brought a lot of this on ourselves...many customers have lied and cheated when filling a claim and we are all paying for it.

Yes, all cars have always been registered and titled to him.

No biggie. If I weren't living it - I would be confused too.

In fact I am living it and I still don't understand Why State Farm seems to be having a problem with us.

Hmm..that would make me nervous if he were ever in a car wreck it would affect your insurance rates etc. Also, I believe you would be at risk if he is sued.

Re: New Procedures for Car Insurance?

@drizzellla

If you (and your son) have been happy with State Farm, you may want to talk to other State Farm agents, if you haven't already.  This may be a company policy now, or it may be the agent.

We had a similar situation--for years had a great agent.  He retired and the guy we got saddled with was uninformed, uninterested and never available by phone or in his office.  He finally quit and the agent(s) we have now are wonderful.  Not only is someone always in the office to speak with, they have explained my policies to me and given me an idea of what is happening in the insurance industry now.  I'm very happy with them.

Good luck!
