I don't know what a line is.

 

Belitting other posters is what gets threads taken down.  It happens all the time.

I know you are a good person and your heart is in the right place.

 

You can always keep your eyes open to see how things go with the new neighbors.

 

It it were me, I'd go over there and introduce myself, maybe bring cookies for the kids, welcome them to the neighborhood.  That might be a good way to get to know them a little.
