It was supposed to happen 2 months ago, owners maxed out their personal credit cards in anticipation of the reopening and 2 days before he changed his mind.
@CelticCrafter Reporter questioned him about that. He will not change his mind. 2 months ago was not an Executive Order. This time it is.
@Snoopp"How are they enforcing windows being open when some places have windows that can’t open."
Eat outside until they have the funds to provide the ventilation needed.
I don't know what is going to happen when it will be to cold to eat outside. I for one will not be dining indoors in the winter. Will continue to order take out and order in.
@Jdpic "In NJ didn't the govonor make it mandatory to wear a mask even outdoors?"
I believe now it's an Executive Law: Everyone 2 yrs on up must wear masks outdoors & indoors (not counting your home).
I live in a highrise. You are not to leave your apt unit w/o a mask.
Last month I was on a train. A masked women w/several very young UNmasked children boarded. At the next stop, State Troopers along w/the conductor escorted them off.

@Snoopp the air quality has to do with droplets containing the virus beng recirculated into the establishment.
@Ibby114 yes, I’m aware of that. My criticism is that many eating establishments don’t have windows that open. I’m guessing they will still be allowed to open.

@Snoopp I don't know of any restaurant that has windows that open either.

I am happy for the restaurants and many diners which I love to eat at with friends. I do not want to see these places go under and I do hope for everyone's sake it is workable and most importantly safe. We do wear masks when in stores and different businesses and that must be.
As for me personally, I will take a wait and see stand. I am not fully confident in eating out just yet and am OK with my decision. As long as I can shop for food and drink and cook I'll survive!

Personally I would worry that I might be exposing myself to covid so what's the point of going to enjoy a meal if I'm only going to worry about that.... and worry for 2-3 weeks later? So I won't go.

Our governor in NM allowed restaurants to open this week-end with the same specifications but many have said that 25% capacity doesn't make it worth the trouble and expense. Many people are balking at eating in restaurants, saying they're not ready to risk it.
Things still aren't exactly rosy.

We've had indoor dining here in Chicago for a couple of months. And movie theaters have just reopened. So far, so good.
