I'm facing that right now, just after the Easter visit. I don't think those blankets were made to wash so often.
My children tell me the grands feel as though they get all tangled up in the top sheets. Even when I try to sneak them on to the beds, I find them neatly folded next to the beds.
I keep trying to imagine how others sleep to get tangled in sheets! I fall asleep and wake up pretty much in the same position and sheets stay put!😁
Many people toss and turn when they sleep. I am one of those people. I wake up and the sheets and blankets are all over the place.
My daughter said after she first got married, that her new husband was this way. She said mom, it looked like he was fighting someone for the pillows. They were on the floor with the blankets 😂
@Coastalcarolina I'm not sure what my husband does, but he mangles his pillows. I am glad we got one of those mattresses that dampen the movement so I don't usually feel him getting in and out of bed and turning over. Every little bit helps when it comes to sleep.

But, my question is, how are they getting tangled up in the top sheet when it is there, but not getting tangled up in the bedding when a top sheet is not there?
@Icegoddess You should see them hanging out of the beds - heads near to or on the floor...cuddled up with the dog...completely flipped around with feet at the top. I don't know what goes on, but I don't want to be anywhere near there. I guess the sheets just get in the way. Hahaha!

Smooth Vellux and similar to Vellux lightweight blankets during the cold Winter nights.
We have several, and change/wash just as frequent as regular top sheets.

Just curious...then you wash your comforter or blanket once a week @I am still oxox ? My washing machine won't wash a queen comforter. It just won't fit, so the top sheet keeps it fresh.🙂
@Trinity11 I was thinking of asking the exact same thing. My skin against a comforter or blanket, I would have to wash those items just like I do the sheets.
@walkingal Not really we wash the sheets weekly and the comforters monthly. I sleep in a 68 degree room with A/C and ceiling fan year round

Always use a top sheet . . . and (this will freak some out) also our weighted blanket!

My Mom was certainly very old generation, and never used top sheets in her home.

@We rescue cats I would love to find a weighted blanket that didn't make me too warm. Do you have any suggestions?

@stevieb wrote:After many years of religiously making the bed with all of what were considered the 'appropriate' layers, I have to admit that I now often skip the top sheet too. I enjoy a fresh bed but absolutely hate changing out bedding. I have enough quilts, comforters and so on that I don't feel compelled to always use (and launder) a top sheet.
Ditto over here.
I stopped using a top sheet a few years ago. I think it originally started during an extended heat wave a few summers ago, and the nights were unbearable!
I believe it's also common in a Nordic country, maybe Sweden, that people don't use top sheets. They are big on warm down comforters, and top sheets are unnecessary.
It's not that unusual.

Someone told me that? I have also heard some just sleep on the mattress?
I have top & fitted sheet, pillowcases, cotton blanket on my bed with a coolmax mattress pad first.
