Nearly 25 years after the murder of beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey, Radar has learned a new potential suspect has been identified by investigators, and now a race to conduct high-tech DNA tests is underway to determine if the long-stalled cold case can finally be solved.

The bombshell breakthrough is the first glimmer of hope in handcuffing at least one of the cold-blooded killers responsible for the brutal strangulation and sexual assault of the adorable 6-year-old inside her ritzy Boulder, Colo. home in Christmas 1996

I would like to know why this was not found years ago.

That case was so sad. I hope they can finally find the guilty party, bring them to justice and let that poor little girl rest in peace. It's a shame what that family endured.

@goldensrbest If you read the article is says there are new high technology DNA tests available today that were not available years ago....thus why many 30 plus year old Cold case murder crimes are being solved today...

They are also getting to perpetrators through the DNA of their relatives who have submitted samples to Ancestry and other sites.

I hope this case will one day be solved. People will still believe that Pasty or Burke did it though. It's very sad.

Anyone interested in DNA, it's "discovery" and use in forensics, should read "The Blooding" by Joseph Wambaugh. I believe he was a former LA police officer/detective turned author. Very interesting, to say the least.
