Re: Never complain about QVC’s shipping, again

QVC would charge $34.99 for the package and say free s/h.

Think of it this way. Pretend the dogs are $25 and the shipping is $9.99.

That's how I would look at it too.  I don't care how they break it down (shipping, handling, BOGO, free with purchase, or whatever).  The bottom-line price is what matters to me.  Is what I'm getting worth that price to me?  If yes, I buy.  If not, I don't.

In my world, no hot dog would ever be worth that but if that's what he really wants, buy them.  We all splurge on special things from time to time.

Are you going to spend at least $35 on his gift anyway?  If so, buy the hot dogs and don't break down the price.  It's what he wants and he will be thrilled.  Why spend that same amount of money on something he may not want or like as much?

Re: Never complain about QVC’s shipping, again

I just went to their web site and it looks like almost everything is sold out. So there are people out there willing to pay the price. I accept that shipping is high expecially for perishables.

If I was OP, being it was a birthday gift, I probably would have swallowed hard and just went ahead and ordered the hotdogs despite the high shipping cost.

I like ordering food on line. I can get food that isn't offered in my home town.

For example, once a year, I order this for myself. It's from Omaha Steaks.

It's a 48 ounce (that's THREE whole POUNDS!) T-bone steak.

For me, it's a treat.

Yes, it's pricey. It sells for $90, but as I said, I get it only ONCE a year.

And no, I can't finish it all in one sitting.
