Geeze, I think all this " asking my neighbors' opinions about my choice of house color" started with my innocent post about how a previous neighbor of mine asked for her closest neighbor's opinion's and input regarding her future paint choices. Noone's advocating this, other than me saying that was a considerate thing to do.

I agree with you.  This is a message board for people to voice their opinions.  We are not on this message board to solve all of the world's woes.  I don't read responses on the beauty threads saying that using a bad mascara is a rich person's problem.  Why do people have to immediately trivialize a poster's concerns regarding her house.

Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

Yes!  Change the color of your front door!

Maybe even the trim, eventually.

That way, when you give directions to others, you can tell them to look out for the ______ house with the______ door!

P.S.  I meant to post this yesterday, but it ended up in Drafts section.

Btw, I can't find the color of O/P's house, and don't have time to go through each post.

Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

Of course so many of the threads on here are not earth shattering but that doesn't mean they don't matter.

I'm glad they are here because it makes it interesting.

I sure don't want to talk about earth shattering world problems all the time.

And the OP never said it was

so I wish too people would not slam a posters opinions and make her feel small or "silly" about it.

Just to say how each would feel is enough, which most people did in a nice way.

@Biftu,

I love the colors you chose-very elegant and classic.

If that neighbor is right next door, yes I think it will look strange-2 the same side by side and the rest of the others different colors would make me think they are family and meant to buy the same house or something!Woman Surprised

@on the bay  Thanks. Yes, they are right next door. I used to be able to give directions to people who had never been to house by saying it's the grey house on the right. Now they'll say, which grey one?!

@lgfan @GingerHead I'm confused. I thought we were ALL free to share our opinions. If you come to a message board asking for opinions, that's what you're going to get.

I guess I'm confused because I thought that was exactly what I/we were saying?

Re: Neighbor’s House Paint

@Biftu Are the houses the exact same style?  If not then it's just the colors that are the same?  Are the yards landscaped the same?  Driveways identical?  Fences?  I'm just wondering how identical the houses are.  I've seen houses side by side that were different styles but the same color and i actually didn't realize they were the same colors since I was looking at the style.

@Love to Run

Also, this has become super silly really.

I just responded to your post because you said something in it that I had mentioned in a previous post.....that's all, no hard feelings. I enjoy reading your posts.

  Also, I don't see how any of my posts can be interpreted as me being against anyone expressing their opinions. I actually enjoy reading others opinions. If the world were all like me, it would be super boring, believe me.

@Love to Run

I never said people couldn't voice their opinions. I was voicing mine in how some posters trivialize other people's concerns about things in their life. Maybe some things don't matter to others but it doesn't mean it isn't important to certain people.
