Has anyone successfully negotiated a good deal with Dish Network? I have been a customer for over 10 years, not that they care, and my bill just went up $30 a month. I spoke with someone today in the customer retention department but was not happy with the deals they offered. I told them what price I would be happy with and when they couldn't meet that price I said to cancel my account on Dec 3 , I am paid up until then.

How long should it usually take until Dish contacts me with a better price?   I remember when television was free! Of course we only had three channels and I actually had to get up to change the channel.

I have Sling which is 35 dollars per month....... First month is 10 dollars..... Its on a month to month basis ........ You can cancel anytime.... No contracts......I let my sons set everything up wasn't sure I could get it right not ever having anything like it before....

@Flika13

Probably never, since you have just cancelled your service.   You stopped negotiating, so what is there to talk about?

My two years is up and I am also looking around ...  probably will go with Spectrum, which I already have internet with.

You should check with all services in your area that will BUNDLE services .... internet, TV, phone, etc.  I never understood why my sister has a land line, but never uses it and never answers it .... having the land line just makes her total bill for TV and internet a better price.

While some people keep the same service for years, I recently read that bouncing around from company to company when your deal is expiring might save you money in the long run.

To me, this is such a hassle.  I find no joy in calling multiple companies and comparing deals.  It's just annoying.

Re: Negotiating Dish Network

I pulled the plug on Direct TV several years ago so I don't negotiate.  However, I've read many posts where people have tried and failed to get deals.  Apparently the attitude of these service providers has changed.

@Bibione    If you live anywhere near an urban area, you can use an inexpensive interior antenna and get all the local stations, which could amount to 50+ channels.  I paid $12. for mine on Amazon, one for each TV.
