Need mouse deterrent like Irish Spring

We use Irish Spring to keep the mice out of the engine compartment on our four wheel drive Mule. This year I have something new, mouse droppings in the car. Since I am highly allergic to Irish Spring, is there another strong scented product like this that I might try? I can't use a product like D Con, because my neighbors who live in the woods with me have cats that run loose and I certainly don't want to poison them with D Con ingesting mice.
