Need help with potty training

I have 7 week old rescue pups that love there crate. They sleep through the night without having to go out. We take them out first thing and than feed and give water and than back out for more pee etc..So for the last 9 days I have let them be out of there crate and I take them out every 90min-2 hours to pee durning the day. They are not getting this method. So today they are in there crate and I will let them out to pee and play and eat and than back to the crate. I'm afraid there arin't learning. I know they are very young but I want to train them correctly..any suggestions ladies? Its been 12 years since I last trained a dog. I used the crate method on him as I was working and would come home every 4 hours and he learned in a week he was only 8 weeks old...so HELP please
