Need advice about South Carolina

I promised my dear friend I would get advice for her from the smart ladies on the forum. She is planning to go to Myrtle Beach, S.C. the first week in April. The hotel she will be staying at is on the beach and she is looking forward to sitting in the sun. I suggested she wait until the end of May as it might be a bit chilly in April.

I would love to hear from those of you who are familiar with that part of the country. Do you think April is a bad idea? Thanks in advance for your help.
