Just say what is in your heart.

It doesn't have to be fancy.

Give thanks for your blessings of family, friends, health, and food.

Sometimes simpler is better.

Anyone in our family would pray a prayer similar to this:  "Father, thank you for this day.  Thank you that you sent your only Son to be born of a virgin.  Thank you that you allowed Him to die on the cross, carrying the weight of ALL our sin.  Thank you that all who have received Him as Saviour will see Him again in heaven.  Thank you for our family here together and thank you for this food.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.

OK, as I remember it, Abby (of Dear Abby fame) suggested this as a Thanksgiving grace, but I don't see why it couldn't be used for Christmas, too.  It's always been one of my favorites.

Heavenly father, we thank thee for food and remember the hungry.

We thank thee for health and remember the sick.

We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.

We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service,

That thy gifts to us may be used for others. Amen.

And of course, you could always add whatever else seems appropriate to you.

Just speak about what you are grateful for (everyone getting together, something good that happened the past year) remember deceased loved ones if you wish to bring that up.  This is more meaningful (IMO) than reciting a memorized prayer.

May the blessings of light be upon us,
Light without and light within,
And in all our comings and goings,
May we always have a kindly greeting
For those we meet along the road.

This was my Great-Grandfather's Blessing.

We say this one and add whatever we are grateful for(i.e., friends, health, all together, prosperity, new Granddaughter...etc.)

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Jesus is the reason for the season.

Bless us,
O Lord,
and these thy gifts,
which we are about to receive
from your bounty.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Thank you all so much! I have had a lot of help from you all- I DO always speak what is in my heart and not something I recite, but I feel it gets old, and frankly after a few glases of champagne, I may not be as spontaneously articulate and compelling as I would like!!LOL!
