Re: Need Really Good Hand Cream

Murad AHA hand cream is very good.  Someone gave me this as a gift with some other Murad products.

Re: Need Really Good Hand Cream

I just Googled the ingredients for Lotil Hand Cream.  The glycerin is great, the alcohols not great (they dry skin out!).  I'll stick with my 100% African Shea Butter for healing my cracked hands when they crack.

Lotil:

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Lanolin Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oleic Acid, Triethanolamine,Stearic Acid, p-Choloro-m-Cresol, Parfum (Fragrance).

Re: Need Really Good Hand Cream

Lately I am using Gold Bond, it has a nice size for your handbag. At home I use Curel products on my super dry winter psoriasis prone skin. The latest Curel, Anti-Itch, works well. Also, if you are not allergic to it, I have used Neosporin with Pain Relief Cream on cracked spots around cuticles and fingertips. Nice to have some relief! I am diligent about applications and also depend on Solar oil and Argan Oil.

Re: Need Really Good Hand Cream

I haven't read all the replies, so please excuse me if this had already been suggested.  This biggest difference in my skin not becoming dry was when I stopped using soaps with SLS (sodium laurel/laureth sulfate). SLS strips the natural oils from the skin.  Alaffia makes a relatively inexpensive non-SLS soap/body wash if you are interested.

Worth every penny.

The thing with hand cream is you have to use it every day.....before your hands are like sandpaper.

I should practice what I preach, but I have found the L'Occitane to be the best for me.

You probably won't get his suggestion .....BAG BALM - originally created for cow's udders!   Google it - it's on Amazon,  drug stores and zillions of other places.

Agree 100%!

To me, it is the right balance between 'it works' and 'it's not greasy'.

In my experience, most hand creams if they work they are greasy, if they aren't greasy they don't really work.

@Pearlee it really did work for me!  I picked up that tip from posters on the beauty board and cannot believe what a difference it has made in my skin and fingernails (no longer split and peel). Remember--most shampoos also have SLS in them, as well as most soaps. Good luck, I hope it works for you, too!
