As with many others, I've enjoyed hundreds if not thousands of photos and animated or still greeting prints over the years on these boards and would like to learn how to do this. My tech savvy DH is stumped on this one, hence my request to you.
I'd appreciate step-by-step instructions so I don't trip myself up in the process.
Thanks so much!

One way is to go to Google Images. Find the picture you want and right click on the picture and Copy. Go to the ""Reply"" box here right click and Paste and the picture should appear.
This works on Photobucket pictures too. Don't use Photobucket links. Just Copy and Paste the picture.

If you are posting photos that you have on your computer, you need to upload them to a photo host, such as Flickr or Photobucket or any one of many. The main point being that you cannot post a picture directly from your computer to the board because you will be the only one who can see it.
After you upload your photos to a host, then you can 'copy' it to here. I would also suggest that if any of your photos are too big, to scale them down first. Nothing worse than putting a photo in so huge that one has to scroll out to the right to see it, but the worst part of that is that is messes up the whole thread.

Thank you so much chickenbutt and Momof 4. Will get things started after I plant my snapdragons and see if I can make this happen.
Thanks, again!

Voyager - If you don't already have any type of photo editing software you can just snag one of the free ones out there (there are a million of them). I'm not really up to date on them because I have the ones I've purchased but Picasa is one that was always good.
Also, I think a lot of the photo hosts now days have tools right there where you can edit photos after you upload the photos to their site.

I'd appreciate step-by-step instructions so I don't trip myself up in the process.
To elaborate just a bit more on chickenbutt's post, you can set up a free account in Photobucket. That's what I use. In Photobucket, you Upload photos or images that create your Library. There is an Upload button that you click on. It will ask you where you would like to upload your image from (for example, your computer, a website, etc.). Once you click on the Upload button, follow the prompts and click on the location on your computer (for example, in your Pictures file) to Open the picture. It can take up to a minute or two for the upload to complete. There will be a progress bar at the bottom of the screen to let you know how far along the upload is. A message at the end will tell you that the upload is complete. Now this image will appear in your Library.
You almost always should Edit the photo you've just uploaded because chances are it is too big, at least for posting here. There is an Edit button on the main screen at the top menu bar. You can also find an Edit button via the pinwheel icon in the upper right corner of your picture (in the Library) if you move your cursor to that area. The pinwheel icon has several different functions on the list, one of which is Edit. Once you click on Edit, your picture appears on a new screen where you have a Menu Bar at the top. This menu bar has quite a few different editing options. The first one you should choose is Crop. Click on that and your pic will be surrounded by a moveable border. When you set the border where you like, click the button Apply in the upper righthand corner. Then you can choose the next Editing feature which probably should be Re-size. I find that most pics start out in your Library as 1034 x 680, for example. That's much too large for here. Just type over the 1034 to a size of about 400 x 300 (just an example). Then hit the Apply button and the pic will be resized. You can play around with all the other Editing features to see what other special effects you want in your pic. If you don't like the effect, just click on the Cancel button in the upper left corner. When you're finished editing, in the upper righthand corner of the screen, you'll see the Save button. You can simply Save it and it will add your edited version of the photo without deleting your original version, or you can check the little box that says to Replace Original if you want. The edited version will appear in your Library and the original version will have been deleted. It sounds complicated, but it isn't once you do it a couple of times.
Another option for posting images here is to google whatever subject you're interested in plus "images" or "gifs" in the title. Once you find an image on the Internet that you'd like to post here, you right click on the image, select Copy, then put your cursor here, right click on Paste. Your image will appear in this Dialog box. My only warning about doing this would be to make sure your image is from a known or safe site on the Internet as some Internet images may contain viruses.
Let me know if you get stuck with Photobucket and I'll try to help.
Have fun!
