For those parents and grandparents with minds to inspire, here's a link for free resources from the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

The Cinncinnati Zoo on facebook (and you don't need to have facebook, its' public!)

has a live "Home Safari" every day at 3pm EST and features an animal. The first day was the marvelous Fiona the baby hippo!Heart

You can also see them after the days they were aired.

@on the bay  So great! My DD said she was monitoring some zoo websites too. I'll have to let her know about this. Thanks!

I was mesmerized by Rico the porcupine earlier.  What a fun job!

@wildcat fan -

I just watched Rico!

Gosh he is cute!

I guess they never pick him up?

No one asked that or I guess that would be a no.

On the bottom right of Kahn Academy's website, they've posted a beta section to practice reading skills for grades 2 - 8.  They've also got activities for science and history--some high school levels--as well as SAT prep.

I've been checking out the middle level reading activities this week.
