While waiting to get my hair done on Saturday, I read a magazine and found this idea. I've tried it and it works very well.
I think most of us have experienced the very annoying situation of having your eyeliner smear off the line of your lashes and up around your eyelid or into the crease. If you want it to stay in place, you have to keep applying it every so often.
What I read is this: first use a gel liner, wait for it to dry, then go over it with an eyeliner pencil. I'm emphasizing the wait for it to dry part because the first timeI tried this, I didn't, and had a black, smeary mess on my face.
The 2nd time I did it I DID wait for it to dry, then went over it with a very intensely black eyeliner pencil and wow, what a difference. It looks dark without being that harsh, kohl-lined look. I hope you will find this tip useful.
