I can cook and bake but that's a matter of reading and following a recipe. I can make a variation of a recipe but not make up a dish off the top of my head.

Cokking and baking was a necessity if we were going to eat. lol

I don't know if you'd call it a 'talent,' but l'm a do-it-yourselfer (hence my nickname, lol). I'm handy around the house, and do gardening. l also cut and color my hair, and do my own manicures. And l sew... But l can't cook worth a da*n!

I think a lot of things that people think are talents that you're born with, can actually be learned if you have the desire, and put your mind to it!

I do a lot of quilting and I'm able to match or coordinate colors without having the main fabric that I am going to use with me.

At age 64, Have to say that I do not have what anyone would call A TALENT.

As a child:

I ice skated... took lessons.. never really was great at that.

I took down hill Ski lessons... never really was good at that

I took horse back riding lessons... never was great at that...

.I was never GREAT at sports... good... not great...

My older sister was a very good Ballerina.... I never looked into that....

My other sister took piano lessons... I never did..

I did take flute lessons..... but never became a flutist.....

So all the opportunity to become great at something WAS OFFERED.

I just never was GREAT AT ANYTHING. Just average

As an adult... I do not have any talents that I can think of that stand out.

Like my IQ... I am just average. Thats OK. Maybe it is better just being average healthy and 64

I firmly believe that everything is hard until you know how, then it's easy. Except for singing unless maybe it is cultivated at a very young age and even then may be a fruitless endeavor. I'm a lost cause in that department.

I have various skills, probably listening has served me best over the years in my work. People like to talk to me although I realize I may not leave that impression here. LOL

I had a fantastic memory when I worked, I could remember names, family relationships, and stories from a large bank of records current and in the dead files but lately names escape me. It's like a muscle you don't use.

@CrazyKittyLvr2You're overlooking your care and kindness toward a sister who sometimes drives you crazy. That's more than a "natural talent" -- it's a grace (and one I wish I had!).

First, thanks for all the kind comments, it is greatly appreciated.

After rereading the many responses I guess I am good at picking and matching colors. DD frequently asks me if such and such looks good together.

DH always liked the way I put rooms together.

When I worked people always commented positively on the outfits I wore. I guess the ability to dress myself is a talent. lol

The last few years when my Dad worked I bought him many shirts and ties for birthdays, Christmas. He was a white or blue shirt guy and a plain tie. I got him to wear colors and combos he wouldn't buy for himself.

Don't know if that's a talent or I just had too many Crayolas as a child.
