This is the Vatican's Creche this year. I think it is beautiful. Last year they had  sand sculptures that were beautifully rendered , but ,I personally found it bland looking

This year they are carved wooden images, beautifully painted and I think it is  lovely

 I am always intrigued to see how the Nativity is interpreted by different people...   enjoy

Wow, that is extraordinary, @cherry..  What a wonderful display.   Beautifully carved and rendered wooden figures, life size!

I find it fascinating that they are juxtaposing the traditional nativity, with a tableau from northern Italy, showing people of the region going about their day in the early 1900's.  It sounds like they put a huge amount of thought into these.

Would love to be there at St. Peter's Square to see in person.  Our church puts on a "living nativity" every year in one of the town parks, with real livestock, and different scenes of shepherds, angels etc.  Our son was "Joseph" again, and this time he has a bit of a beard to further the impression!   People either drive or walk around the park, while members of the congregation serve them coffee and hot cocoa.

I'd also love to see the living nativity that is done in Washington D.C. every year in the Capitol district.

Thoroughly enjoyed your video-- thanks!

@Oznell  thank you

This happens to be my personal favorite so far. I have posted 2 videos from the Italian Street Sweepers Nativity, that I hope others will enjoy, as much as I do...

Lovely!  So sweet and poignant that the manger is made of twigs from the street sweeper's brooms...

Thanks so much for these videos, @cherry .  They helped nudge me back into the right frame of mind during a difficult Advent.
