@skatting44   Yes you are correct. All patients should be protected with no exceptions. One would think someone who is well known would be certainly assured HIPPA protection as so public.

I live in a small town and a local Doctor was escorted out the door, fired on the spot for going into a  medical file of his girlfriend. He was a popular Doctor and is on the school board. Everyone wondered why he was fired?

HIPPA also affects clergy and they can't divulge information unless allowed to do so by the patient and may not know what happened medically to a parishioner? I have friends and his wife is a P.A .and he signed a form indicating she could go into his file.

The National Enquirer is the last place I'd look for facts on anything. That's probably why it's hasn't been released.

@Gorgf

 I thought I had heard someone who worked at the hospital had been arrested  some time ago . Honestly, it could have been some IT staff person who supposedly stole copies  her medical info .

@Gorgf - clergy are not a covered entity under HIPPA unless he/she is rendering pastoral care in a situation where PHI is handled like a hospital or nursing home. Or, if the clergy is a professional counselor. But, in a church, parishioner/clergy relationship is not covered by HIPPA but there is an expectancy of privacy & that violation would be handled by the hierarchy of the order or organization but no disciplinary action or fine for a HIPPA violation.

Maybe it's true.  Maybe not.  It doesn't matter.  She's receiving chemo and we can only pray that is successful.

The National Enquirer pays informants so maybe someone at the hospital is a rat.  This same paper is in our news for paying to kill stories.

And we know how that turned out!

Yes, we know that some bimbo eruptions are much more serious than others.

Yes and was paid to do it.  And paid to plant stories about others.

As I recall, National Enquirer was the first magazine to print that King Charles and Princess Kate had cancer. They even stated what type of cancer. Many people denied it but it turned out to be true.  So, I wouldn't disregard this information.

When TMZ says it, might be credible information.  I am not sure how they are always on top of things.  They must have people everywhere.  I remember when Michael Jackson was reported dead.  It was TMZ who reported it first.
