From National Today.com
Restricting yourself from your favorite foods can be difficult. That is why, on May 11, we celebrate National Eat What You Want Day! On this day, people are encouraged to treat themselves by giving in to their sweet tooth, carb-loading without having a marathon to run, and eating breakfast for dinner. Because on Eat What You Want Day, no one can tell you what NOT to eat.
I would love to eat a few chocolate brownies, not yo mammas banana pudding (Paula Dean's Recipe} I make it for my family every holiday ! a nice piece of pizza or anything fried !! yum!! but due to my dietary restrictions (type 2 diabetes, although sugars under control and no longer taking meds) I'm afraid to eat anything that will send my blood sugar off the charts. So for those of you who can eat what you want, tell us what you are treating yourself to today and enjoy !!

Didn't know about this day. I eat what I want everyday in moderation. In this crazy world I choose to embrace each day.

I would love pizza, a chocolate shake and the best fries around.
But I limit my meals and sometimes eat pizza. I didn't know about Eat What
You Want Day until I heard about it on the news earlier.
I did have a small piece of ice cream cake for dessert with lunch. It was delicious!

@Goodie2shoes It is difficult to stay on restrictive diets. Having a lot of diabetics in my family, (mother, aunts, cousins) I know how challenging it can be. Fortunately, my children and I do not
have that issue.
With high blood pressure and high cholesterol, I have tried to be
diligent. Today is my birthday and I decided that just for one day,
I will eat what I want, within reason.
Instead of my usual oatmeal, this morning I had an English muffin with butter and raspberry preserves. I also had coffee
with cream and sugar, which I only have maybe once a week.
I usually only eat bread once a week, and it's always whole wheat.
For lunch I will have plain yogurt with berries.
For dinner, we will go to my favorite restaurant and I will order a decadent Kahlua Sombrero, which is like a coffee milk
shake. They have a wonderful salad bar and the best steaks. I might even have a baked potato with sour cream.
I won't get dessert because this morning I got a delivery from
Edible Arrangements. One of my daughters sent a box of their
delicious giant strawberries dipped in chocolate. A couple of those is a perfect dessert.
One day won't kill me.
