NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Naomi Judd, the Kentucky-born singer of the Grammy-winning duo The Judds and mother of Wynonna and Ashley Judd, has died. She was 76.
The daughters announced her death on Saturday in a statement provided to The Associated Press.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness," the statement said. "We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory." The statement did not elaborate further.

They were a heavenly-sounding duo, and now Naomi has joined a choir of angels.
May she rest in peace. She certainly will be missed.

@ValuSkr yes, I realize there are two. Those who don't read TV and Movies won't see it. One said Naomi Judge so it took me a few seconds to realize who the person was.

@sunshine45 Read the other thread which has more info. Tbe statement by Ashley and Wynonna strongly implies it was a suicide.

FYI, her name is Naomi Judd not Judge.

What disease of mental illness?

That is shocking - she was so young. Tragic if it's what others have suggested.
So very sad for her fans and those left behind to deal with her sudden death.
May she rest in peace. And may her family have some sort of peace knowing that she is no longer suffering with any kind of illness, either mental or physical.
Can't hardly believe it, I loved her music.
