Re: Nancy Reagan has died

[ Edited ]

So what if she toyed with astrology or numberology.  It's not any different that gambling at casinos, bingo, etc.

When the Reagans took office, nations had fear of us because they should if they EVER toyed with us.  You would all be dead and gone and your children and grandchildren if they ever felt we weren't strong and capable of delivering payloads of whatever was needed.  Mr. Reagan made that very clear.  He loved AMERICA, NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

What family doesn't have issues with their teens/young adults.  They were no different.  Mrs. Reagan was admired greatly abroad and had to turn down many invites for meetings, dinners, socials, etc. due to the fact she was booked solid and in demand.

The Russian premier lives here in California (Gorbacheov) who greatly admired the Reagans though at the time he had to appear stern for his people.  They were a special pair - no denying that.  We were very blessed for having them when we did.

Without getting in to details and political, I'll just say that I respectfully disagree, and leave it at that.

IMHO there has been only two administrations with classy first ladies:  the Kennedy and the Reagan administrations.  Nancy Reagan emanated charm, kindness - class!  Now she's wit her Beloved...

She always came across to me as quite stuck-up and snobby, as well as cold, escept when it came to her husband whom she clealry adored. Ronald seemed so warm and friendly to everyone, I always wondered what he saw in her.

I believe he saw someone he loved.  I think often kind men gravitate to hard-driving women who are left to play the role of the bad guy while the "sweet" guy stays sweet in the eyes of others.

You know, there are just some people in life who are left with (or blessed with?) the role of haing to do the hard stuff.  Whether they enjoy it or not, it's them that has to make the tough decisions, do the dirty work that has to be done sometimes and take the flack.

Whatever, I see a lady with great trace and decorum (of which there is none now in politics on either side), who had strong beliefs and love.  What more do you need to say?

Such a lovely, classy, stylish lady. May she rest in peace and eternally be with her Ronnie. I truly enjoyed her as a gracious First Lady.
