Troll Dolls! Yes!
Also Heidi dolls, Skipper and Liddle Kiddles!
I still make wishes on dandelion pods. I can't pass up an opportunity for a wish.

I fondly remember doing this as a child. I always thought dandelions were flowers. It wasn't until I got a little older that I realized they aren't flowers, they're actually weeds!
@When my son was little I told him that they were fairies that were trapped and we had to free them and blow them away so they could do good deeds around the world. We would get dressed and go out on many exciting fairy rescue missions during the spring...he loved it.

We used to get these cards from banks that you could slip/insert quarters into.
When the card was full, it came to about $5. We would take the filled cards (made of cardboard) and deposit $5 at a time to the bank.
The teller would take our passbook and using the old clackety-clack typewriter, would enter the new balance.
By the time I graduated from HS, I had over $750 from those little cardboard cards.

Speaking of kotex...remember when there was only one or two choices of sanitary napkins??? I was recently in a drugstore to get a pack of pads for my sister and couldn't believe the hundreds (seems like) of choices there are these days. I had to call her while I was in the store and have her "walk me" through the isle until I found the ones she wanted. LOL!!!

when I was about 8 years old mom sent me to store for napkins. I bought kotes because I thought sanitary would be the best. Lol. I am 70 now. Back in those days, Iwe werent taught the fact of life so soon. Also the box was a blue or lavandar, with nothing on it but a rose I think, and the word KOTEX, sanitary napkins!!!! Who knew! I laugh about this so much.

(I remember my ds asking me once why I called it that)
Sanitary belt(hope this isn't inappropriate)
I remember in the 80's my sister and I were very resistant to the new stay on pads. We were in a drug store and sis wanted a new sanitary belt. When she asked the young clerk where they were, the clerk replied, "What's a sanitary belt?" We couldn't believe it! The store didn't have any and so goes progress....
Drug store
When I was still teaching and would say "drug store" sometimes students would ask why I said that rather than CVS, Walgreens, RiteAide, etc.(they didn't say pharmacy). They said it sounded like a place where you went to buy drugs(illegal).
Short hand
(took it in high school and loved it).
Five and dime store (5 & 10)
@StarpolisherStill remember my short hand and use it when I don't want someone to know what I have written.
