@Meowingkitty: I used to call them "goonies," and had one with orange hair, that looked like this:
I even got baby trolls from a bubblegum machine.
Trolls came back again in the 90s.

Back then boys were apart of the safety patrol. Girls were called "Service Girls". We (I was one) worn a white band on our arm and helped maintain order in the hallways, lunchroom, etc.

@Elri - that sounds like mine....they were very unique....mine was Kelly green leather with a black handle. We danced the Lindy in the street listening to the Top 100 tunes

Speaking of kotex...remember when there was only one or two choices of sanitary napkins??? I was recently in a drugstore to get a pack of pads for my sister and couldn't believe the hundreds (seems like) of choices there are these days. I had to call her while I was in the store and have her "walk me" through the isle until I found the ones she wanted. LOL!!!

when I was about 8 years old mom sent me to store for napkins. I bought kotes because I thought sanitary would be the best. Lol. I am 70 now. Back in those days, Iwe werent taught the fact of life so soon. Also the box was a blue or lavandar, with nothing on it but a rose I think, and the word KOTEX, sanitary napkins!!!! Who knew! I laugh about this so much.
Eta
werent the choices kotex and modess?
In our drug store, sanitary napkins were placed in brown paper bags....so if you carried one home, well, everyone knew what was in the bag

I do remember most all stores being closed on Sundays. Then, little by little some department stores, one of them being Federal's Dept Stores, started to open on Sundays. But, you could only purchase certain items. The lighting was dimmed in some departments and large carp coverings were placed over big ticket items like furniture, etc.

Troll dolls are still around. Wasn't the Troll movie out last year? I don't remember not seeing troll dolls at any time.
I saw Magic 8 Balls a while ago but they were cheap and not as clear as the original ones. They were at Toys r Us.
