@NYCLatinaMe this must be the Christmas weekend talking points memo. They trot out the old "govt created crime wave" like they trot out the caravans. It's all a dog whistle. I have never seen anyone shoplift, let alone anyone empty a shelve of products and walk away. Tough neighborhoods for some of these folks. I don't doubt it happens, but it is not a nationwide issue, like, say school and church and grocery store gun massacres.

You are right about employees though. They would rather lock up items than pay for salaries and benefits to adequately and professionally staff the stores. Same reason we have 1 live cashier and 40 lanes of self check out.

At least this thread waited one day to start it all up again, Christmas reprieve? Every day with this stuff. I don't see that where I live either.

Many people dead and dying from the terrible blizzard in Buffalo NY, don't see any posts about that at Christmas time. Human life

@Greeneyedlady21   Also see nothing about those sleeping in the freezing cold in other areas - such as El  Paso.  You know those mythical caravans and all.

But then again, I've never been to Europe, either.
