I'm taking my Daughter (and husband) to New York in a few weeks. I've been there with a tour group once a few years ago so everything was very well planned and I really didn't have to do anything.
This time we are all on our own. We are staying right in Times Square as our main purpose of the trip is to see Broadway shows. And of course do the tourist things like the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, Central Park etc.
Any other recommendations on restaurants etc? And getting around? I'm not sure if I want to attempt the subway! Is it easy? Is it just as easy to take a cab?
I'm reading all the books and they make it sound like the subway is easy, but when I don't know.
And getting from Laguardia to the hotel, it seems like just grabbing a taxi is the best option. According to the books anyway.
Thanks for any info!
