Especially since the guy was using a Muslim warrior as his profile pic on FB.

Re: NYC Doc Tests Positive for Ebola

Hmm..wasn't it GrettaGarbled who said all Texans should be quarantined...wonder if she feels that way about NY now? She went on and on for weeks ad-nauseam.

Oh and how we should seal the border of Texas off from the rest of the US.

Look at Noel spinning. She knows what she argued about the other day has now come to pass. ASYMPTOMATIC at the airport over there can still mean someone is INFECTED.

There is a big difference between being infected and being contagious. Big difference.

That's true but that wasn't the argument being made. Some were saying that taking a temperature at an airport would help nothing. Duncan made it out of the country and came here and so did this dr. If they are INFECTED, they eventually will become symptomatic and INFECTIOUS. Meanwhile, they are already here in this country.

Lots of people are exposed to lots of viruses and do not get ill.

Different immune systems, etc.

I am certain they will contain this latest case and institute some sort of mandatory quarantine for those returning from medical missions in the affected regions.

I certainly hope so. I'm not a bit concerned about catching it, myself. I have an extremely efficient immune system, but many do not.

I heard a news report indicating that his girlfriend and two others are voluntarily quarantined. Considering his experiences, I think it's irresponsible that he didn't self-quarantine after being exposed in Africa.

Because when the nurse flew home she did have a fever although it hadn't reached the threshold.

She was still infected. People sitting near her on the plane were upset.

The bridal shop that she visited had to be shut down because she had been there when she was infected!

This was a great loss of business for them, and they had to quarantine a lot of people in Ohio because they were around her when she was trying on dresses in the bridal shop.

If we can't trust DOCTORS to not get on the NYC subway and go to a bowling alley and a NURSE not to hop on a plane and run to a bridal shop and look at wedding dresses after they have been exposed to infectious fluids of dead Ebola patients who in the heck can we trust to be smart about risk and infecting others? Are these people stupid or just lacking in common sense? Why would these people not care about who they infect? Ewww. This is just not acceptable.

Really, I don't understand this at all. Shouldn't these medical professionals be smart enough to quarantine themselves long enough to determine if they are infected or not? Not run around on public transportation and potentially infect others. Just really dumb and careless.

When will this lack of common sense stop??

Exactly. He certainly lacked common sense by not quarantining himself for 21 days. As a wise man once said, "Would have been prudent".

Absolutely!!! Why the heck isn't there????

Because that would hurt people's feelings.
