Lots of people are exposed to lots of viruses and do not get ill.
Different immune systems, etc.
I am certain they will contain this latest case and institute some sort of mandatory quarantine for those returning from medical missions in the affected regions.

There is a big difference between being infected and being contagious. Big difference.

Are these people stupid or just lacking in common sense? Why would these people not care about who they infect? Ewww. This is just not acceptable.
Really, I don't understand this at all. Shouldn't these medical professionals be smart enough to quarantine themselves long enough to determine if they are infected or not? Not run around on public transportation and potentially infect others. Just really dumb and careless.
When will this lack of common sense stop??
ITA!
Well he stayed in his apartment most of the time but he had a sudden urge to go bowling, take the subways and a cab, even though he admitted to feeling under the weather the whole time. Not very smart.
Yes.....and this is a doctor that has been in Africa, treating Ebola patients and should know all about this disease. And he comes here and behaves this way? I am at a loss for words.....this is just lunacy.
Someone needs to put these people into quarantine if they are too stupid to do it themselves.
Just defies logic.....
When you've got to bowl, you've got to bowl. Must have been super important to him.

Good question.
Why would they scrub down planes if she was showing no symptoms? Maybe some on these threads who think they have all the answers can explain.
I (think) I saw a news report saying that they had scrubbed the plane that infected nurse was on FOUR times and replaced the carpeting etc.
Now that was either a) because that was necessary or b) to make people feel safer. Take your pick. lol

Cue Gretta and her ""overabundance of caution"" theory.

Absolutely!!! Why the heck isn't there????

Because when the nurse flew home she did have a fever although it hadn't reached the threshold.
