I've watched NOVA shows that feature bald eagles. I was surprised to learn that both male and female bald eagles take turns sitting on the nest during the incubation period. They trade off to hunt and feed. So, we don't really know if this is the male or the female. But, in any event, it is good parenting.

I saw this on one of the morning shows and they said the father is taking turns also.
