Re: NINETEEN TWENTIES' NEW YORKERS OUT FOR A STROLL

Now, it's all gone to he**.   You see the way people get on planes now ?  cutting toenails. I saw a mother changing her babies s*itty diaper right from her seat.

Yep, things have changed alright. Young girls strutting their stuff in shorts up to their *** and with holes no less for easier visualization.  Big busted women with

girls hanging down and getting a self tan at the same time.

Hair streaked blue, orange, magenta.

Not one person of color in any of these pictures. Great illustration of who was free to "stroll" in New York in days gone by. They can stay gone by as far as I'm concerned.

The Harlem Renaissance was the development of the Harlem neighborhood in New York City as a Black cultural mecca in the early 20th Century and the subsequent social and artistic explosion that resulted.

Thanks for the pictures @just bee . More proof of the segregation of society that existed and still exists today in certain areas. I prefer today's NYC sidewalks, where diversity is a natural aspect of strolling.

@Oznell   I long for the days when people actually start dressing again, but I am afraid we will never see it again.

The glamor of the 40's, 50's,and 60's was my favorite.

Rita Hayworth...Ava Gardner...Elizabeth Taylor

Audrey Hepburn...Marilyn Monroe...Sophia Loren

Brigitte Bardot...Jackie Kennedy...Raquel Welsh

Just to name a few~~~

Thanks for the wonderful pics of those well dressed strollers.

ITA ... it's gone.

There was a time when mothers took the time to teach their daughters how to dress "properly", and what the wardrobe basics were for any occasion.  What happened to THAT?

IMO, what used to be considered looking like she just rolled out of bed, unkempt, is now a "look".

There are no real role models anymore because the "supermodels" don't dress to dress well ... it's dress in whatever will get the most attention on the internet.

I also wonder what's been lost with magazines.  I used to look forward to seeing what was being shown for the next season, how it is worn, and looking for styles that would work for me.

I don't even remember the last time I looked at a fashion magazine ... in my hands.

Can you imagine a woman back in those times posing on a magazine cover, pregnant and naked ?

@Lakelife62

Even though you don't like me don't take a chance on what you think of me to determine where you will go.

I don't have any control over your destiny only you can make that decision and not cop out based on your judgement of others.

I hope U do .
