Re: NEW REASON TO PUT ON QVC

Unless you have one of the 1 am cackler-honker-shriekers hosts on air. More than a few times I've been wakened by an "outburst of obnoxious loud" between a host and vendor. I shut the TV off instantly. If it happens when I'm awake or other than wee hours I change the channel. Bugs the kwap outta me.

Re: NEW REASON TO PUT ON QVC

I have tried the Q, but it doesn't seem to work for me.  When Dave James worked there (for those who don't remember, he was Southern, had sort of sandy hair and two little kids), there was something about his voice and calm demeanor that was soothing.  Leah has that effect on me, and Mary Beth...

This reminds me of that discussion of the soporific effect of "Forensic Files".  Narrator Peter Thomas must have had one of the best voices in the business!  Beautiful enunciation, yet not pretentious. Smooth yet distinctive delivery...  Acts like a lullaby on me.
