I just got a letter concerning QCARD billing from SYNCHRONY BANK. It states that if we as customers, DO NOT opt for paperless billing for the QCARD that we will be billed $1.99 extra every month...that we should sign up by July 2024. We must sign up for paperless/electronic billing to avoid the fees. I am not pleased at all as I prefer getting my bills in the mail. We should not be forced into paperless billing or otherwise, pay a penalty. Honestly, I may just use another credit card or better yet, just discontinue using QVC entirely. I always pay my bills in full no matter what the amount but these little nickle and dime fees from huge banks just kill me...It's the priciple. Yes, yes, "GO GREEN" but open one more option of being "hacked" - just my opinion...

I don't have the infamous Q Card but my bank has been charging $5/mo for paper statements for a few years now. Same holds true with my trash pickup company and some of my utilities. I actually prefer paperless because I don't have to worry about not being home to pick up the mail from my streetside mailbox. I think it's just a sign of the times and everyone's trying to save money. I don't believe it's for a convenience for the consumer, just a way to save the company costs via using the USPS.

use a different card, there are not many benefits to the Q card

I wasn't happy to do my bills electronically, but I love it now. The mail just isn't dependable for alot of us anymore and scammers are stealing bills to get your persoanl info. We actually had someone break into a mailbox and take bills with checks in them .Can you imagine the info they got from just one envelope....all of your bank account iformation and your credit card info! That is what made me switch over.
I can either pay from Chase' website directly or use my Banks' billpay I know it got there and I can even print a receipt
I'm almost 70, and hate change....but this wis the way to go.

ALL companies are trying to get us to go paperless.
Not exclusive to Synchrony OR QVC.
Nothing you can do about it so no sense getting irritated.
It is a major cost savings for them.
My bank also was going to charge me a mail fee which I refuse to pay. Been that way for YEARS.
Two of my regular credit cards have done the same.
We have a LOT of equipment loans here at work, they have ALL made me go paperless or pay a fee a long time ago.

@fritzie 309 DH and I haven't gotten a paper bill or statement in decades. Much easier to have everything online. Try it!

I also pay (or overpay) my bill every month. I probably won't use my Q-Card anymore. My HSN card (also Synchrony bank) is also going to charge the $1.99 per month. So I'll just use my Discover card. I understand it costs them to mail out bills but I'm not going to pay a fee to use their cards when I have other options.

While I would not like that extra fee, like you said and others have mentioned, you could always use another card. What is more troubling to me is the fact now that many merchants are now charging the customer their service fee, as much as 3.5%. This not only includes stores, but I have had my doctor, lawyer, plumber and hairdresser pass on the credit card fee to my bill.
I realize I could pay in cash or check but I liked the fact that using the credit card gives me that extra sense of security if I would need to dispute the bill for whatever reason. Looks like the businesses are passing on the fees to us, one way or another.

Its the way of the business world today, they are feeing us to bankruptcy.
