NEED HELP WITH PSYCHO KITTY

In june we got a new kitten. I will be 50 and our house has NEVER been without a cat. We have never had a kitten or cat like this. First we were misled and the kitten was way too young to be away from mom,#2 they were not allowed freedom do to young (under 2) child who had no clue how to treat them. She has mostly stopped biting my mom and myself however my family who frequently come over are attacked almost every time! She will not warm up to them at ALL! We love her and will not get rid of her because that DOES NOT solve problem. Lucy is not a lap kitty but she does like to be on bed or close to you. We are at our wits end. She is going to be spayed next month which was going to happen no matter what, it is just responsible and we have never not spayed/neutered our pets. DOES ANYONE HAVE SUGGESTIONS??????????????? She is so cute and can be a very fun loving kitten. I partly blame the person we got her from for being misleading-she was supposed to be able to eat and the day aftr we got her we had to take her to the vet because she was not able to. I had to syringe feed her. She weighed in at 15 ozs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have searched internet, websites etc. PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS SUGGESTIONS E-MAIL ME AT PATTYR62@ATT.NT OR HERE.
