Re: NEED HELP WITH A BIRD ASAP

My husband found an injured wildbird.  I've called just about anyone and anything I can think of...SPCA, local police department (non-emergency), Vets, animal rescues.  No answer.  Animal rescues take only cats and dogs.  No wildliife sanctuary anywhere close to me.  What do I do?

@ScrapHappy @This happened to me about 25 years ago. I was clalling every agency I could think of and there was no virus. The little bird was put in the shade on my covered porch, as the next few hours ensued, the little guy permed up and flew off.

When you say it has one eye, is it a house finch with possible conjunctivitis that finches get? They are small, brown birds with streaks on their chests. They are prone to getting this eye disease that targets the house finches. When they get it, they can't see properly and don't fly.

Emergency vets are always open.  They will take the bird free of charge, treat it, and send it to the appropriate wildlife rehabber.  Good luck!
