I love me some Deacon but I didn't want him with Rayna either. He's had one too many setbacks. Everything is an excuse for him to go off the wagon and I think she's put up with and been through enough of his excuses and bad behavior. She needs someone more stable.
I saw no spoilers about this but I had no doubt she wasn't going to pick Deacon. I thought her choice was very predictable. But I think she's struggling with her choice. At the end when she's at the event with Luke, she doesn't look happy at all.
See, I don't get this?
In 2 Season's he has gone off the wagon, once, after 13 years of sobriety, and that was when he found out, the woman he loved and trusted, more than anything, had lied to him, everyday, about having a child together.
Found out after she had reignited their relationship as lovers, but, was still keeping the paternity secret.
Yes, it would have been great if he had handled it better, but, that was one whopping boatload to have dumped on you.
He got sober after the accident and has been sober since.
Addicts can and do get sober and stay sober. Is it a terrible illness yes; is loving an addict hard, absolutely. But, I don't think that means they don't deserve to be loved.
