Just check my newest supply of KN95s and they do not have the NIOSH approval stamp. Probably the huge supply I've already gone through wasn't approved, either.
My main concern when purchasing was that they were *Made in USA*. So much for that.....
Trying to track down NIOSH approved masks will be fun. And you need a new one for each day? Am I getting that right?
@Lucky Charm , have no fear. I have read this on a number of different spots:
"There is one specific thing for individuals to keep in mind if they are shopping for a KN95 mask. If that mask bears the “NIOSH” marking, then it is not legitimate, because the institute does not approve KN95 masks, or any other masks that are designed to adhere to international standards."
@Wsmom Thanks for that! I have the box and individual packets for my N95s I've recently bought. Need to check them out. Will the packaging show NIOSH or will it be emblazened on the 95s themselves? Again, for those, only cared about being made in the USA.

Just b/c a mask is not NIOSH-approved doesn't mean it's not good. The FDA has stopped updating their list of approved masks b/c there are just too many out in the marketplace now to have them all tested for approval.

This is correct. If you want NIOSH approved, you will have to buy N95 masks.
If you want Made in USA N95 masks, there are some available on Amazon.
There is a list of NIOSH approved N95s on the CDC website, although they don't state where each is made.

It should have both. If you go to the CDC website, if shows what to look for and where to find it on the masks.

Just going by the seat of my pants here, literally. I want to be safe, I want to feel safe.
The flimsy *medical* masks never cut it for me. I wore them for a bit in the summer in 2020, but the sides gaped open and I just didn't feel *safe*.
Neither did the cloth masks. I guess I could make a quilt out of all the ones I've purchased in the beginning.
One thing I can say, my masks have never fallen off my nose--ever. Some of the masks I see---why even bother. There I said it.

@goldensrbest @Lucky Charm @geezerette @SilleeMee @haddon9
I ordered from the site that @SilleeMee recommended. Seemed to be a decent price and 0 shipping cost!

The brown paper bag doesn't do anything, its just a way to keep it clean. When COVID 1.0 was around, we kept ours in brown paper bags with outrnames on them for reuse after being UV lighted to disinfect.
