Re: Mystery Of The Dumped Pasta

@CelticCrafter  Thanks for the firsthand information on this. it sounded like there was something more to this.

Old Bridge is a really nice town. I didn't know about their sanitation policy.

Eye opening !

The article I read in NPR said Old Bridge Township has no trash pickup services and no nearby town dump. You have to hire a private service to haul away items. Residents have complained for years about illegal dumping.

Oh,okay, well that makes more sense to me than it did before.

Thank you @bikerbabe Woman Happy

@jackiejenny @bikerbabe We have trash pick up services, it's just not included in our taxes or provided by the county or township.  We have to pay for private pick-up.

The one doing all the complaining is complaining that we don't have "free" bulk pick up like some of the other surrounding towns.

I know all counties in every state probably have different provisions when it comes to garbage/trash pickup.

In my county, it's not included in our taxes either (should be,we pay enough) but is paid as a separate charge on our water bills each month.

If you have a larger than normal trash pickup, all you do is call  the trash refuge department ahead of your normal pickup day to give them a head's up and they will pick it up.

Of course, some exceptions apply...they don't take water heaters, paint, most appliances etc., but I think pasta is on the will pickup list! Woman Happy
