Myrtle Beach suggestions

Looking into an oceanfront vacay in Myrtle Beach. Would love ideas on things to do w/ the kids ( 2 teenagers & 1 11 yr. old), as well as hotel suggestions. Definitely want one right on the beach.

Also, when is the best time of year to vacation there?

Thanks in advance. I've been there before, but that was as a young 20 yr old w/ my girlfriends -- a different sort of trip back then!
