I have a kitty (Clarabel) that we adopted at age 6 months from a shelter.
She's probably about 1 1/2 years old now. I have 6 other kitties and 1 dog.
Clarabel is extremely anxious and skittish from the day we got her. She's not aggressive or anything, just always nervous.
We kept her in the master bedroom for quite some time, thinking that would help. She now wants to be out in the whole house. I take her in the bedroom when she wants, like to sleep at night.
She's fine with the other kitties and dog. But she acts like we humans are going to attack her!! In the bedroom, she's all over us, and we can pet and love up on her. In the rest of the house, she's always running away from us. I mostly just try to talk to her, not approach her.
I am thinking this is her nature, and may never be changed. Any suggestions, as she's the sweetest kitty?
