Recently my dr. prescribed water therapy so I've been seeing a new pt at a local pool dedicated to just that kind of work.

She's so nice and so patient, and it cracks me up how she tries to be tactful and kind when she has to correct me when I make a mistake. I've never been very well coordinated and instead of asking bluntly, which might hurt someone else's feelings but I wouldn't mind--"Have you always been this uncoordinated?" she says gently, "Has coordination been an issue for you in the past?"

I wasn't the least offended and my feeling weren't hurt--heck, I know how awkward I am--and I burst out laughing and said, "Yes I always HAVE been this uncoordinated." She and I both had a good laugh over it.

Water therapy is surprisingly hard work and I really don't like doing it but it's either this or more "procedures" and/or more pain meds. I want to try this for a couple of months at least before I do something more drastic.
